EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The Wendell H. Ford Government Education Center offers tours and educational programs to assist schools and teachers.
Educational programs are available for grades K-12 and cover a range of subject matter.  Programs are designed to be fun and educational, a mix of informal and formal learning experiences.

Using the life and experiences of Senator Wendell Ford, the Ford Center challenges students to become informed and participate the governmental process.

Learn to Serve;
       Serve to Learn

Teachers are encouraged to schedule Ford Center Tours and Programs as early as possible.  Most Ford Center programs are presented throughout the year in order to make the programs fit with your needs. 

Reserving your date is simple.  You may use the
Reservation Form page to submit your information along with a couple of possible dates.  You may also contact Kathy Olson, Museum Director, by email at kolson@owensboromuseum.org phone at (270) 687-2732.

Program fees are based on the number of students attending.  Out-of-county schools are charged $2.50 per student attending and in-county schools are charged $2.00 per student attending.  Teachers, staff and appointed chaperones are admitted free.  Schools may bring lunches and use the lunchroom with prior approval.  (Lunchroom available only when attending museum programs and tours.)
